In the normal 3 pane browser, installed packages are now indicated by a leading asterisk.
If you evaluate: CategoricalSMLoader new createFancyWindow; openInWorld you'll get a much more elaborate Browser, with separate panes for Installed and NotInstalled packages, and a big friendly button to change which is which.
